Best anti-malware software?

What's the best software to prevent malware infections? The best to detect infections? The best to eradicate them? The best single all-in-one product?

Re: Best anti-malware software?

I don't know about "best" but I use a combination of software to limit damage to my PC.

Firewall: Zone Alarm (Free Version)
Anti-Virus: AVG
Anti-Spyware: Windows Defender (Free)

But recently I read that Microsoft is giving away anti-virus software for Windows PCs. If I was using a free anti-virus program I would have switched already.

A couple of different programs that I use:

Anti-spyware: Spybot (free)
Anti-virus: Avast (there is a 'free for home use only' version)

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (freeware)
Super-Anti-Virus (freeware)
AVG (freeware)
PC Tools Firewall Plus (freeware)

Microsoft Windows products are a joke, disable them and use a third party for all anti-virus, malware and firewall utilities

First of all, Norton and mcafee are both WAY overrated, especially Norton, and are resource hogs. Try all these. Note: you have to purchase Avast! professional as the Home Edition does not give you rights to use it commercially.
