Speeding up Adobe Reader 6Now I've heard lots of posts about how bloated the new Adobe Reader is because it loads up all the plugins at startup, which is ridiculous. However, help is at hand.

Wow this is impressive. Such a simple trick and a 1.5mb pdf file opens like a dream.
It won't allow you to view encrypted files this way, but I think I can cope with it. Rob |

Damn nice trick! I wonder what else it disables, though? Will I still be able to make pdf's?

You know its bad when it takes the same amount of time to load up Acrobat as it does Photoshop.

It just removes a load of unnecessary plugins that maybe 1% of all users need. You can't for example load up a watermarked PDF from something like the British Standards library, but how often do you need to do that? If you need the functionality back, you can always reverse what you did.
I highly recommend you try it though. Rob |
