Which search engine brings you the most traffic?There have been many times where people end up discussing which SEs are more popular (Yahoo, MSN, Google). In most surveys, Google seems to come out on top with Yahoo a little behind and MSN in third.
On my sites, I find that Google can be a huge driver of traffic but is much more finicky. I think I have one or two sites that get the (vast) majority of their SE traffic from Google. MSN and in some cases Yahoo seem to provide more traffic for newer sites. Do other webmasters here see something similar? |

Re: Which search engine brings you the most traffic?I've seen Google and MSN nearly equally. It varies from day-to-day and week-to-week, but overall I'd say they're about equal.

Re: Which search engine brings you the most traffic?I find that on a couple of newer sites, MSN is bringing in traffic from single or two word keywords while Google is doing ok when it comes to 3 or 4 word phrases. So overall, MSN tends to bring in more traffic for these newer web sites.

I wish I had copied the stats from the first weeks on my site, but you are right, most of the traffic DID come from msn. However, today, I get about 50-55% of my traffic from Google, about 10% from Yahoo and msn is unimportant. |
