Hi,

I'm posing this question to web hosters who rent dedicated servers to host their shared clients. Is it a concern to you whether the company from which you rent the dedicated server also does shared hosting? Are you less likely to get a dedicated server from such a company? If yes, why? Is it because you are protecting yourself from that company possibly stealing your shared hosting clients for themselves? Could it be because you would not want to support your competitor? Any other reasons?

I am not worried about this at all. The company from which I get my servers are not very well known for their shared hosting, and their shared hosting is also very expensive compared to most of the competition. I assume it is the same for most server companies that their shared hosting costs are higher since it is not their main service and focus.

I will second what GamePhreak said. Besides that, there are thousands of other competitors, one more does not make much of a difference.

Well. i suggest you not to go for a anon providers. Otherwise no one would steal your hosting customers. Think about it. It is a business for them. Why they should still you shared customers if they could move to another company. It is better for someone to have you as dedicated server customer.

Everybody want to deal with serious customers and business class hosting customers are one of them.
