I was looking forward to moving the sites on to the new server today but I found out that it was not the one that I ordered. Long story short, it seems like nothing else is available at the moment.

Since this site is growing and the server is usually overloaded, I cannot wait another week or month.

Here is what I am looking for...

1. A dedicated server in the US.
2. Must have DirectAdmin.
3. CentOS 4+

Price: $55 - $70 per month.

I look forward to your offers or suggestions where I can find such a deal.

Well, you can take a look at my host, www.aplus.net. They have dedicated servers starting at $99/month, but the Linux OS they offer is Fedora.

Thank you for the suggestion C. But it's not in the range of my budget.

Besides, if you hang around WHT as long as I have, you will know that they (aplus) are scum. They are infamous for their spam too.

Update: I finally found a server today. I placed the order and I should have it any day now.

If I get my hands on the server Friday, it would be perfect -- I'll have the whole weekend to process the move.

Interesting info. Perhaps they have changed their practices in the last year. I did a search for link:aplus.net and only got 7000+ hits, down from the reported 17000+, with the vast majority being webhosting sites or discussions.

I also checked the source of several non-webhost related sites and found hardly any of the "hidden" aplus.net links; the aplus links that did show up were placed on purpose. I haven't had any problems with them so far and no spam. Maybe I just lucked out.

That's your prerogative.

For me, they did something really bad, they got caught doing it and they are finished in my book. The last thing I want to do is start watching over my shoulder to see if my web host is screwing with my web pages. If they are sleazy enough to do it once, they are capable of doing it again.

Another update about the server:

I will receive the server Sunday morning (for me), Saturday evening for the rest of you in the U.S. The data center is here. People on the west coast will particularly enjoy improved load times, at least I hope so.
