Internet Explorer is not a browser and is considered harmfulNot my words these, I just wanted to spring up a debate about what you all thought about the standards that are discussed on this page:
http://ashitaka-san.home.comcast.net...ieharmful.html I do believe following standards are a good idea, but it doesn't mean that the standards are totally perfect. There is a current dilemma in the Mozilla Firebird community about MIME types as it follows the standards to a T and if you click on a link to a WMV file, more often than not it will provide garbled information. This isn't the browsers fault, it is just following the header and most servers have been set up incorrectly, read this exerpt of the web page: Quote:

Ok Rod you got my attention. I looked up that hidden IE file and sure enough it was there. I did some testing of my own and if you would like to test my theory please do.
I right clicked over IE -> Properties -> General -> Delete Cookies, Delete Files and checked delete all offline content and then clear History -> Content -> Auto Complete -> Clear Forms and Clear Passwords and click ok. I then checked for the file again the index.dat file come up but no history files. I found the location of the files and the history was gone but today was still there I deleted today and ran the command again and found that it created a new today history log but was empty. If I'm right there is a way to clear the history if IE totally. If you or anyone else has time to check this please let me know. I still think I may try Firebird, do you use it and if so how do you like it? __________________

And by the way I agree that standards are important. They may not be perfect but I don't want to imagine the Internet with out them.

Ok, after reading and review the information that these sites offered I couldn’t totally support them. I will need to do more research into the hidden files and folders. I have been work with my laptop, which has Windows XP PRO, and IE 6. I have cleared the history and then filled it back up I search for the file before I deleted to history and they are there but after I deleted the history they were gone no files showed up after type the command in DOS. I'm not sure and Outlook Express or the typed URL being stored in your reg as I don't use Outlook Express and I turn off the auto complete. But as I sad I'm going to try firebird and see how I like it. And I plan on doing more research and testing with this to make sure that my findings are correct. If anyone else fines that I'm wrong please let me know.

Hey PCX long time no speak, yes I'm an avid user of Firebird and if you wait till October 14th-15th the 0.7 version will be out, which is a huge improvement from 0.61.
