Question

help not sure wat is happening

i think i may have a virus ??? or something interesting, wat is happening is using limewire i have downloaded a number of programs and audio / docs including conspiracy. i have a spare hdd - e , all progrmas etc were downloaded ot this address, last night i downloaded something that instantly started to download anything and everything from the net - loading e drive until i had to stop it, deleting did not work just kept filling up, also limewire will not switch off - everytime i do it boots back up by itself after i have checked the connections options. as a last resort i tried to reformat e drive from xp - not once not twice but 3 times, this failed, then i tried to format e drive from dos, it appeared to be successful however there is 42meg of something on e drive that i cannot delete, and in the task manager there is something e_????? (can check if anyone interested) that is running in processes, ending task will not work, just reinitialises, finally, after all said and done, i can only reformat e drive after reboot, trying to do it twice without rebooting it tells me that e: is 0 used, 0 free, 0 available and the system is a raw file?????? - any suggestions??? I noticed some1 else mentioning cpu usage at 100% this is my problem too,

Yeah, it sounds like a virus. Have you ran a virus/spyware checker? If you can't clean out your drive that way, try getting a copy of a LiveCD version of Linux, like Knoppix. Boot into Linux and use the hard drive utilities to format the drive; Linux will let you format it as a FAT32 drive. You might even be able to see what's on the drive that's causing you problems.
