Info for help with Redhat.....Use the following tricks save time....
1. Freshmeat.net to look up Programs... 2. There is rpmfind.net type in the rpm looking for this should help.... 3. Go to Redhat site look for Manual on setup of Apache, PHP and Mysql I believe there is a walk through for this some of you users are spending far to much time on setup of Programs..... 4. Consider using Webmin allows you to update PHP+MYSQL+APACHE this is not for complex databases but for beginners... Webmin does however cause unnecessary security risks.... 5. If all else fails just use google type in your question such as "How to setup Apache for Linux" believe me it will save a ton of time if you just state your question..... That is how I found this site I typed "Learning PHP" and this was about the 12 result.... 6. Use Linuxiso.org to download any Linux Distro... Now the best book I have read on learning Redhat is "Learn Redhat in 24hrs" It has a lot pictures and gets you going in no time.....Still the best online manual is at the Redhat site....... later.... good luck.... PS....check out Linuxquestions.org for more detailed help... |
