Trying to install Sims Deluxe Edition!

I bought an external hard drive the other day, which is 80GB. I thought you could install program onto it but obviously not now i have tried!

I have been trying to install the Sims Deluxe edition! I put the CD in and the usual stuff came up. Then it gave me the option to save it to a particular place so I saved it to my F: drive which is my external hard drive. It all installed nicely but when I came to play it, it came up with "you can't put software onto this hard drive only data storage and files etc". So I deleted it from my external hard drive and put the disc back in again to save it onto my normal C: drive. When it came to the installation it just said to put my serial code in which I did and then it didn't give me the option to save it to where I wanted it to go. It just comes up with Componant transfer error. I think it came up with that because I have turned my external drive off.

How can I change this so I can have the option to save it onto my c drive?

Re: Urgent help Trying to install sims!

Don't know much about external HDD but....by "turned my external drive off" did you mean pressing a power bottom on the external HDD or something? If, so try disconnecting the the external HDD from the PC.

And I think you can install games and stuff on the ext. HDD but I think the games or programs will run slower.

Re: Urgent help Trying to install sims!

Here is the solution:

External hard drives wants operating systems like Windows 98 or XP, whatever operating system you got, games is going to run.

So I suggest you to put Windows XP on it because it helps alot.

If you have any questions please mail me on cricketinfuture@gmail.com.

I definitely agree with cricketinfuture on this one. Try installing Windows XP, and you can get it from torrentspy.com!
