Re: creating a Forum from scratchJust go with what is most familiar to you. If you don't know any of those languages... I would recommend PHP. It's easy to learn and powerful. ASP and Perl are also good choices.
Are you just going to have a form that your guests fill out? Then you just need a PHP script to process the form... and then a place to view recently added comments. It shouldn't be too hard or time consuming. __________________

Re: creating a Forum from scratchmy domain name/hosting is on windows, i thought windows servers support asp instead of php... but i might be wrong.
either way. i'v never done any php, but as i understand asp - is similar to vb.net...? right? and i took couple classes of that in school. is it possible to do it in java? i'm taking it right now, and it seems pretty cool. __________________

Re: creating a Forum from scratchQuote:
In Windows / ASP, you have ASP components and on *NIX, you need to have ChiliASP installed but a lot of the ASP components will not function properly on *NIX. |

Re: creating a Forum from scratchI would use PHP, if you don't know any specific language. In my opinion is the best language to start with, and very powerful to create everything your mind will tell you
