File Verify Failed!

Hi,

Using nero 6.6 to burn backup files on a DVD.

Started multitrack dvd ISO with first backup OK.

Started second set of file backups but when file verification was done I got a FAILURE and I aborted and closed down.

When I tried to read the dvd again my dvd writer couldn't read ANY file on that disk when before the initial backups were read fine.

How can I rescue the first backups again? Or have I completely ruined the DVD-R now?

regards

Re: File Verify Failed!

IIRC, if you didn't close out the session properly, then I believe the disc is effectively ruined. The data is still there but the software can't locate it correctly. You might be able to mount the disc on a different computer or under a different OS.

It's been a long time since I've had a problem like this so I may be outdated in my thought.

Hello, I'll try to use dvd in another machine. Material was not critical.

Can you suggest a good routine using Nero to compress a 3.8 gig dvd to 99meg volumes to post to newsgroups?

I'm not sure if Nero will let you do that or not. You might have to use a different program to make multiple files. Honestly I haven't used Nero in over a year so I don't know what Nero is capable of anymore.

If you need a different program, try www.tucows.com.
