CD Bunere ISNT WORKING NOOOOOOO!!

hello everyone i am new to this forum

Ok now here is the problem. I bought A 40x 12x 48x Internal Cd-Rw Drive and The company is Digital Research Technologies

Model # drcdrw401248

I have had this Cd burner for about a year and it was working fine and then one day i woke up and my cd burner isnt being recognized by Windows Xp Professional. (i also have a dvd rom) When ever i put my cd burner into master the computer always keeps on restartin. Now after that when i put it into slave it asks for a boot disk?? So then i just put the Dvd rom into master and when i turned my computer on again the floppy wasnt reading. I checked it and the power cord wasnt plugged in for the floppy. But after i put it in. The dvd rom wasnt being recognized. So its really confusing and i only have my dvd rom now as master. Please help me.

I have a vtech (it sux) Plzzz i dont wanna buy another burner or replace please help me. I would appreciate it.

THANX

I had a look here: http://www.dr-tech.com/support/CDRW/dr-cdrw-faq.htm
but didn't find anything.

I don't know what could be causing the restarting, but when you are putting it in the slave drive, are you changing the pins at the back accordingly?
