[c] Programming Help Needed!!!Hi, whats up everybody? im new to programming, and new to using [c]; i got stuck with this project and i am not sure how to get it done. what i need to do is create a program using [c] that can read both a temperature sensor and a "real time" clock. i will need to transmit this data to an LCD as well as the RS232 port so that it can be monitored & controlled via the RS232. i tried but with no luck, if someone can help me it will be very much appreciated.
thank you. |

Re: [c] Programming Help Needed!!!Welcome to GID!
As someone brand new to the forum, maybe you can help us. We have a post with RED background and YELLOW text that new people seem to not see or understand. Is there something we can chage that would indicate to someone new that the information should be read before posting a question? Any ideas you may have will be very much appreciated. Thanks. __________________

Is this a school project? Who would "stick" someone with no programming experience with such a project? What target platform are you using to write your program and what target platform must the program run on? What is the interface to the temperature sensor? Does it have its own built-in analog to digital converter or do you have to read an ADC? What is the interface to the RTC? I2C, SPI, etc.? It sounds very much like a first year EE programming project using a PC host/target and Windoze on the host with DOS on the (SBC?) target. BTW..."I" is always capialized. How can we possibly help you without knowing a bit more about what you're doing, what software and hardware you're using? You say that you're new to programming. Do you have any C experience at all? Have you written, compiled and executed simple programs? Take Care. Rob! |

Instead of "READ THIS >>>" I think you need to change it to: "READ THIS FIRST >>>" ...and then, create a "bit bucket" location where all of the ZERO INFO POSTS live and move...err, abandon them there? ...sending an email to the originator telling them that they've been moved due to lack of information and that they should create a new post only after reading the guidelines. The graveyard would fill up rather quickly, huh? Take Care. Rob! |
