Re: CMOS Checksum error-Defaults loaded

Well, obviously the issue is w/ CMOS. You might have a bad CMOS battery, hence it's losing all its information when you power off, or your BIOS/CMOS area is corrupted. It's rare for the CMOS to become corrupted but it can happen, usually from a virus; that's one of the reasons Gigabyte has two BIOS chips on their boards.

If you have a replaceable CMOS battery (should look like a watch battery), then replace it and let it charge up for a day or two. Hopefully your system won't give you problems when you next power up. If it does, then you most likely have a corrupt BIOS and should try reflashing it.

hi crystal

sorry for replying late to this message but i owe you as i got the problem solved with very little efforts. I just took off the battery and put it in sunlight for sometime and then it started working fine for me.
