Going wireless, yes im years behind, what should I be looking for in a router / nice these days? Thanks in advance

Is there something special you're looking for, like a gaming console router? Pretty much everything on the market will meet most people's needs. Most include a h/w firewall, DNS router, static IP config., etc.

Don't bother with anything beyond 802.11a/b/g, since the standards haven't been settled yet. You might be able to get a combo kit that includes the router and NIC or PC Card if you hunt around.

Wondering what protocol I should get, looking for quality, security, not into gaming, mostly for wife who just had kid and is going to be doing work from home on laptop, and we have a desktop as well, but don't use to much, just basic daily tasks, ebay, browsing, email etc. I heard something about
