Whilst looking for a contact number for Google (fat chance) I forgot they don't use phones whatsoever apart from within the lift at the Googleplex for safety reasons.

Anyway, I came across this: http://catalogs.google.com/ that has scanned in pictures of the catalog / catalogue. The amazing thing is though, that they must be using some sort of character recognition for the pages. Have a look at this: http://catalogs.google.com/catalogs?...=Google+Search

Make sure you click on the picture as there is even more stuff to check out.

This is a really good idea, though I'm not overly certain with the point of it since people can find things just fine on the net. Probably why its still beta.

One of the many strange yet wonderful inventions available at the labs.google.com. The keyboard shortcuts one of actually pretty good.

Yes I read about this catalog search a good 9 months ago, but it wasn't reviewed too well, because like you said, people can find just as good on the web.
