this damn ohci1394.sys!!!


Someone please help me!!!! this is driving me nuts!! Ok I hav a IBM Thinkpad 600x. I currently have Windows 2000 and i want to put Windows XP on it. Sounds easy enough right? NOT!! Every time I put the XP cd in and start to run it so that can format my laptop and load the XP I get the error


The OHCI1394.SYS is corrupted Press any key to continue.

So I do and the it say my pc has to reboot. I have tryed 4 different xp cd's ive switched my memory Ive even gone as far as switching me hard drive! Nothing is working. It is not all that serious the I have Windows XP but I cant handle not knowing why I cant perform this simple task

How far do you get in the process before this error comes up? Did you actually start the format when this occurs? Please give us as much details in step by step as possible. Thanks

Maybe you should try reinstalling Win2k first to fix any corruption, then you might be able to install XP. The other option is to reformat the drive and load XP on it; Windows doesn't have to already be installed to perform an upgrade. It will just ask you for a Windows CD before completing the install.

make sure cd rom is part of boot list in bios
if it is already, remove hard drive from boot

i also get this same error, and i try to get into BIOS but i cant get it to go into it

ive tried F1 F2 F10 and Del

can ne1 help me

also this HDD is formatted

EDIT: i got into the BIOS, tried takin HDD off boot list but that didnt help, i still get the same error

did you try clearing cmos?
