Buffer problem with CD-RWriter

Hi, everytime I try to burn an audio CD a message is displayed indicating that a buffer under-run has occured and the burning has ended prematurely. The CD is then left with 3 or 4 unfinished tracks at the end of the CD which don't play at all. A friend experienced the same problem but their computer was an Emac and was only about a year old. They never bothered to resolve the problem although I am trying to. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

The CD-RW is an LG CED-8080B. I have the specs avaliable if needed to diagnose the problem.

Re: Buffer problem with CD-RWriter

Have you always had this problem? You might make sure your "burn protect" or whatever it's called is set so the burn buffer is enabled. You might also try changing the brand of CD you're using. Do you still have a problem if you turn down the burn speed, e.g. 2x or 4x instead of max?

Re: Buffer problem with CD-RWriter

Is you r CDRW on the same idee as you r hard drive? in that case The cd will slow the harddrive down so data will not reach the burner fast enough, and that problem may occour.

If you have 2 drives and 1Cd make sure both hard drives are on the same Ide port and on the same cable, and the cd is singel on ide 2 , or tougheter with an 2nd cd rom.

hope this solve your problem
