help me on Apache server


I want to know that if i want to update something in my Apache Server, how i can close down my server and how i check there is no user using the server and if there is user, how i block the other user to access and wait for the user before finished their transaction then i close down my Apache server.

plz help me on this problem
i know many expert in here. plz help me to solve problem

depending on your OS and whatnot may very

windows

service httpd stop
service httpd restart

linux + cpanel
/sbin/service httpd stop
/sbin/service httpd start

freebsd might be different
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/apache.sh stop / start
