Hi, T-string error,am completely new here and need help

Hi
Firstly if I am in the wrong section I apologise, I found another message with T_string mentioned and thought someone may be able to help.
My husband and I have just started a new web site and decided to change our opening page. I thought if we just wrote the new text in the existing parameters (not knowing much about html etc) we would be right. Now we have an error on our opening page and don't know what is wrong.

The error is:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/lipcom14/public_html/shop/includes/languages/english/index.php on line 13.

Now, I used the code tags to allow your php to be highlighted. See how the apostrophe is messing up the markup. You may need to use It’s to do what you want.

What it means is you have to do something about the single quote you are using for the contraction It's. One way to display that would be to use the character entity Right Side Quote, or, as it needs to be referred to, ’ noting the need for the semi-colon at the end.

Do this to start. Remove the apostophy (hmmm, I made an error in my first post) in haven't or change the text to have not and see if that fixes your problem.

Hi Mark

I got rid of the apostrophe and tried a semi colon and got another error. Am I asking too much if you could write the whole line so I could see what I need to type?it would work, I can understand if you don't you have alreay tried to help more than I thought you would. Let me know either way.

I don't think that is the answer though. Could you post a bit more of the code around your problem area. Perhaps it is something else leaking in.

When posting code surround it with the [php] and [/php] tags so it is marked up. Sometimes that alone is helpful in finding errors.

Edit, I just looked at your site and it is not a square bracket [ but a less than < that is the problem...
