Dual Socket Computer OpinionHey, Im building a new computer soon and i am sure im going to get a dual socket motherboard. I was wondering what your opinon is on if i should get 2 intel 3.0 GHZ dual core processor to put in it or get 2 intel 3.4 GHZ processors to put into it. I will be most likely playing some games on this computer like Battlefield 2 and Counterstrike but will do more IM (Instant Messaging) and downloading music and whatnot.

Re: Dual Socket Computer OpinionIf you're not doing anything strenuous, why exactly do you need a dual processor board? Just because you can?
Seriously, there are very few programs available that support dual-CPU's, whether they are dual core or dual chips. The vast majority of games aren't optimized for it yet and I can only think of a few apps (like Photoshop) that support it. __________________

Re: Dual Socket Computer OpinionLet me second that and say, "save your money". Instead of spending extra on a dual CPU motherboard and the second CPU, buy more RAM and good PCI Express video card.
