Dynamic IPI need to ask one thing.
The Ethernet router I am using get dynamic IP address from Service provider ... and service provider changes that IP with interval of times. When we need to make a webserver, I guess its necessary to have that IP fixed that it should'nt get change again n again and buying a fixed IP from Service Provider will cost me much. I have heard that there is a way to use the same dynamic IP with some trick and machine can be used as to webserver. Any possibility ......... ??????? Any suggestion ........ ?????? regards. Re: Dynamic IPNormally your IP doesn't change except when you reboot your system; then it will aquire the IP address from the server, which may or may not be the same. AFAIK, the only way you can make a static IP from a dynamic host is on your internal network. You change your router's settings to give your computer a static IP. However, I don't think will help you in regards to having a domain name. Your ISP can still give your router a new IP, since your router is what is actually connected to the ISP.

Re: Dynamic IPThere is also the option not sure how well it works but there are a few places on the Internet that will act as a third party. I can't remember what sites atm as I haven't looked into this in sometime.
If I remember correctly they use to be free as well, But what they do is you sign up with them and they will give you an address that is static you then when your IP address changes they will update that static address to your new dynamic IP. I'm not sure about all that ins and outs about this, like I'm not sure that if you do it this way if you will be able to use you own address. But it may be worth looking into. Hope this helps __________________
