Another working Tripod CGI script

I've been playing with a CGI guestbook program and was curious to know if it would work at tripod.com... It does!

A few minor tweaks were necessary although these were done at my uklinux site before it got to tripod.

1. change the start line of each script to

2. Got complaints from tripod about not stripping CR's. Ran both perl scripts through
DOS2UNIX program to strip them all, it now works!

If anybody is interested I could possibly package them all up in a ready-to-run zipfile.

Take a look at http://nickbeee.tripod.com/cgi-bin/E-Guest_show.pl and http://nickbeee.tripod.com/cgi-bin/E-Guest_sign.pl

Sorry that was a typo

I think there are probably some dos2unix and unix2dos command line programs for windows.

Alternatively some of the better text editors will strip all the CR's from a file. I know PFE editor does.

I guess the other solution is to cut and paste onto Tripods web based script editor?

nniehoff has a spectacular aura about

Tripod CGI's

I have been learning perl now for a while and I have written several scripts that now run on tripod, Guestbook, calendar, mailling list, user/password required stuff, and more that I just can't think of right now, but they are all working on tripod.
Nick
I'm always up to a chalenge so if you have any ideas for a script on tripod drop me a line and if it isn't too challenging, I will give it a try.

polls! polls are quite popular as a search phrase together with tripod...

so, unfortunate for some, a lot of websurfers end up here for the phrase "poll +cgi +tripod"
