Im considering moving to a proper paid host... Does anyone have any experiences of the following or suggest any catches I ought to be aware of?

www.magicz.com ( as displayed in JDS's banners) - UK division

www.radcliffenet.net (UK host)


Magicz is the more expensive but promises "unlimited" on most things such at mysql database, pop mailboxes etc.

Radcliffenet offer a very good annual payment deal but limit the cheapest accound to 5 mysql databases/pop mailboxes etc.


And finally... What happens if you exceed your bandwidth? do they block your site or penalise you financially? I cant see any mention in either company's terms & conditions.

anyway, moving from FREE to PAID hosting is going to be very exciting for u... it was for me, atleast.

i can't claim to be an expert and i only have experiences using 2 (regular) hosts in this short period since my "Tripod / F2S" days.

Moving from FHW (my first paid host in Nov 2001) to Magicz (in Feb 2002) was a real eye-opener for me and i realise now the difference between "support" and "qualified support".

When u make ur choice eventually, tell me if u decide to go with Magicz and maybe I can get in touch with them to arrange a better deal for u...
