I usually start at good old Wikipedia: Sudoku

Wikipedia has a good explanation as well as notes about computer implementation and also links to other sites about the topic.

Or you could try web sites with "Sudoku" in their URL

http://www.sudoku.com

http://www.sudoku.org.uk

http://sudoku.com.au

Now, I am not necessarily recommending any of these particular sites; I just wanted to point out a few links you might see if you entered the topic in a search engine.

Remember: .com means it's a commercial site, and they might try to sell you something. Heck, even the .org sites are sometimes selling something. That's not necessarily a Bad Thing. You still might pick up some useful information, even if you don't buy anything. Some of the sites are just for playing the "game", and don't give any programming hints, but you said that you didn't know where to start. One way to get started is to try a few sudokus yourself and see what it really means to get involved in such an activity. You might learn why so many people are fascinated by it and why it has become so popular. Some say it's kind of addictive.

Or, maybe not. As for me --- I don't need another "hobby" just now, but I find it very interesting that great masses of basically non-technical people are "into" a pastime involving arithmetic. I didn't see that coming.

Regards,

Dave
