Not All Machines Visible On NetworkHi,
I have a network set up with roughly 80 or so clients. Not all machines are appearing in the Network Neighborhood. Machines vary from 98 and XP pro Operating Systems, but it doesnt seem to matter which OS is being used. I have enabled sharing on some of the machines that do not appear. Does anyone have any idea why this could be? |

Re: Not All Machines Visible On NetworkIIRC, XP/2k have an issue seeing Win98 on a network because of a change in the network protocol. I believe you have to get an updated network "driver" to make them all see each other. (Sorry, I don't remember where I heard about this so I can't provide a link offhand).

Re: Not All Machines Visible On NetworkThe firs question is Are you running a peer to peer network or a server to client network? If it is a peer to peer upgrade to srever-client install active directory and use the protocols for pre-2000 win os's
