Hi !

I am an aspiring web designer and and have learned quite a few technologies including XHTML, CSS ,Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and Javascript.

But one thing that has always and still confuses me is where do I proceed in order to learn easiest way of creating login pages and shopping carts.

I want to be able to create user profiles so that the website has a login and password page and a shopping cart where he/she can shop. Can anyone guide me about this please on to where to start learning and what to start with ????

Have you ever looked into server side programming languages like ASP.NET?

Many web hosts offer a shopping cart as part of your hosting service; you may or may not have to have an ecommerce or business package to get it (depends on the web host). Same thing with a login page.

Otherwise, you can build your own using server-side scripts via PHP, ASP.NET, Perl, etc. or you can find a pre-built one and adjust it to your needs. Try www.hotscripts.com.

You will need to learn a server side language such as PHP or ASP and also how to build databases and use SQL to query them.

I suggest you buy a book (look on Amazon for a teach yourself cheapie) and follow the examples to begin...

You could also start here http://www.w3schools.com/ and run through the ASP / PHP and SQL tutorials.

Good Luck
