I'm Parameswaran(M) from India.

I am an electrical engineering student but i have a lot of interest in programming, especially game programming.(though i dont know the abcs of game prog).

I am in the final year of college now and i am happy that i got an offer from the software firm Cognizant..

I havent introduced myself since i joined this forum.

I think i can learn a lot from this forum(already learnt a lot) and help any new members who come to this forum.

This forum has the best looks than any other forum , since we have the bbCode and there is no too much ads.

Recently, I saw a documentary on the Discovery Channel about a place in India where one can retrieve details about one's life based on some ancient records written on some sort of leaves.

Do you know anything about it and if so, is it real or some sort of elaborate hoax?

Usually, I don't like going off-topic like this but I'm kinda desperate because my Mother is so caught up with this that she is travelling there next month!

Regarding the documentary,

My mother says there are people who can say about you or retrieve information and she has seen people like that.
But you must find who are them exactly.
Some may cheat.

If you say the place you saw in the discovery channel, i may find some more information. There are people like that all over india.

Yes, I found that page off Google (and many others like it) as soon as I finished watching the programme a while back.

I was wondering if you would go and have a reading yourself.

Still, it's fascinating to read that these "predictions" were written almost 2,000 years ago. It's mind-boggling to imagine someone actually sitting down to write about present-day me, some 2,000 years ago!

Yes. Its amazing.

I phoned my grandmother about that.
She says that the predictions in Vaitheeswaran Koil(means temple in tamil) will be true.

They'll ask you for your date of birth. They will find your nakshatra according to your date of birth. then they will search for that particular type of nakshatra in the palm leaf(olai) and will say you some of the difficulties and good things you might have faced in periods till now.

its different from what is said in that page!

The distance between the temple and the place where i live now is about 250 km.

An update about this Nadi Predictions thingy.

When my Mother left for India 2 weeks ago, I gave her my particulars to get a Nadi prediction report on my behalf. Today I got the report, which is in the form of a (cassette) tape. Everything was recorded in English, so that was a relief!

I must admit I am impressed. I don't know how they do it but they knew every little detail about me! Quite freaky actually...

I won't discuss every little detail of my report but here are some interesting excerpts from it.

Past Life

1. I was a teacher.
2. Was a guy in Karnataka, India.
3. I was an idiot (left my wife when I became successful, leaving her to fend for herself).

Present Life

1. Still paying for my past sins. See No.3 above.
2. My single life will end soon.

Future - this life

1. Gonna die one Friday morning, when I am between 70-80. The exact date and time was given but we don't have to cover that in detail.

Future - next life

1. Damn, there is a next life for me...
2. I will be born in the western part of the world and wait for this, my name will be Gilbert! Gilbert, if you are reading this 50 odd years in the future and you're about 10 years old, "You're me! I mean, I am you!".
