CPU Underclocked?I have an MSI K8N Neo m/b with 1gig ddr 400 ram an xfx nvidia 6200 128mb gfx card and 3000+ 64bit socket 939 cpu, the processor is running at in total 1800 mhz, when running my old system, which was MSI K8T Neo m/b with 1gig ddr 400 ram an nvidia 6600 256mb gfx card and 2800+ 64bit socket 754 cpu which ran at 2100 mhz.
so i have supposedly a faster processor but yet slower speeds :S, i have tried changing different speed settings in the bios and the only change i've ever seen is a bluescreen, anyone know of how to resolve this? |

Re: CPU Underclocked?AMD chips physically slower than their "rated" speed, hence the "+" in the name. Even though they run slower, they have optimizations that let the code run faster so the CPU speed is equivalent to an Intel chip running at the "rated" speed.
So don't panic. You get the power of a faster chip for the price of a slower chip but it's nothing to worry about. Different architectures will give you better performance at a lower speed. __________________
