Hi All,
We are conducting a survey and we want to find out what Web Masters/Web Developers/Designers prefer to use for their hosting. Do they prefer Windows Hosting or Linux Hosting?

If the Web pages are designed in HTML and you find a Windows and a Linux Host offering their services for the same price (considering the competition in the hosting industry these days). Which one will you choose?

Linux. Even though you gave the hypothetical premise of being the same price, all the hosts I looked at gave a price premium to Windows, occasionally almost twice as much. I don't need any of the special "perks" of a Windows server like Frontpage extensions or IIS support. Plus, I don't really care for MS.

Unless there were specific requirements for MS specific technologies (ASP, .Net, etc) I would would always go with Linux/*nix.

I will also choose Linux.
There are free available features of Open Source scripts in Linux hosting that Windows still (...or always) can't compete.

Linux is by far the best, Windows is more expensive too.
