Sitemaps for Yahoo?I was surprised to find this paragraph in Yahoo's Submit Your Site page yesterday. I got a hint about it from a reply posted at http://groups.google.com/group/google-sitemaps
I have been to the page many times in the past but I don't remember seeing it before. Is it something recent? Quote:

But if you read the top part, it also says - "Enter only the top-level page in your site, our crawler will explore the rest of your site from there."
That would lead me to assume that the urllist.txt file could be a list of websites you want crawled (not necessarily a list of webpages within a single site). |

Yahoo SitemapsThe most important question for me was: "Will they (Yahoo) be fetching this (sitemap) file again soon?" Well, I got that answer earlier today; they fetched the (GIDNetwork™) sitemap file again!
![]() So we can assume "Yahoo Sitemaps" works the same way Google Sitemap does. Now to make one for GIDForums™... |

I just checked my logs for yesterday (Saturday) and can confirm that Yahoo has picked up the sitemap file for GIDForums™ yet again.
It appears to fetch the file weekly at least... it could be more frequent than that but I cannot be certain as I don't go through the logs everyday. |
