Video Card

I currently own a Geforce 3 Ti 200 I'm thinking of upgrading to a Geforce FX 5200 and was wounding if this is a bad idea. I've heard that my Geforce 3 is faster than the Geforce FX.

I suggest you read, http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic...311/index.html

and more usefully this:

http://firingsquad.gamers.com/print_article.asp?current_section=Hardware&fs_arti cle_id=1208

Sounds as if the geforce 3 Ti 200 is faster than the FX 5200 depending on how you look at it. However, it does get a lot better 3d mark 03 score even beating the geforce 4 Ti 420.

However,
Quote:
Based on our preliminary results, NVIDIA’s GeForce FX 5200 Ultra is the new performance champion in the value segment, dethroning ATI’s RADEON 9000 PRO. On top of its performance you also get 2.0 pixel and vertex shaders, making it feature ready for the next generation of DX9 games that we’ll see coming out over the course of the next year.

For $79 that's a good deal and I'm sure its cheaper if you search.

That’s when I posted here to see if you guys would know of more sites or maybe personal know more. Sorry for the confusion. I did check the other site that you posted and it was of great help. Thanks I plan on installing the new card tomorrow and testing it out a little myself. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for all your help guys and welcome Socrates Demise sorry I haven't been around so I haven't welcomed you yet. But I did get the 5200 FX and as it turned out the 5200 that I got was bad. SO I send it back and I got a Geforce 5600 FX 256 MB DDR. This is the best card I have ever owned. But I just wanted to thank you guys for the help.
