Question

Partial screen capture

I am a inexperienced programmer working in Visual C++ trying to create a program that can actually 'see' what is onscreen on multiple different applications at once. Is there a way to capture bitmaps of all or part of the current screen (i.e. provide coordinates to a method that will then 'take a picture' of a portion of the screen and return a bitmap of it?)

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Re: Partial screen capture

Watch out, that is a $50 piece of software and I didn't see anywhere discussing a C++ interface. There is a free d/l but I haven't checked to see how much you get for the "free" part.

Something similar (that has command line switches) and really is free (in cost anyhow) would be IrfanView that does really nice screen captures and general image processing.
