We don't have one
Do you have a specific Java problem, or would you just like such a forum? We try not to open forums if there isn't enough interest, and there hasn't been so far...

Best regards,
Lucian

Hm, I don't really agree... I think they are very different. I mean OK, I know there are C++ libraries which provide garbage collection, but you'll never see single-object hierarchy in C++. Nor will there be a standard GUI. And if you think about the dreadful Java I/O... you know what I mean ;-)
But that is just rant of course, I see your point.

If there will be the need, I'm sure one will be opened. That is the way it always worked, and that is how most of the new forums came to existence (see the Python Forum for instance).
Meanwhile your feedback is really appreciated. If we receive more requests on this (in this thread, maybe?), who knows? Right, J?

Best regards,
Lucian

Hello CMan,

Actually, Lucian and I have discussed this very topic (privately) a few days before you started this thread.

Indeed, we are planning to open a Java Forum soon. I will probably add some new forums when I upgrade GIDForums™ next month (September 2005).

If you are a keen Java programmer, I am looking for someone like you to help me create a syntax highlighter especially for this language on this forum -- just like we did previously for the C++ example codes.

All I need from you is some information (and help testing the highlighter) and I will write the script that will actually handle the syntax highlighting.

Any suggestions for the colour scheme for the highlighting? For example, what colours would you be most comfortable for the keywords, for the "strings in quotes" and the colour for the rest of the code?
