BIOS checksum error


hi to all
Instant help is needed plz !!!!!!!!!!
i have a confusing problem . when i start my computer up approximately after 15 to 20 min the screen goes away and an error message appears .
i have tried diffrent ways to solve it but i couldn't
would you please help me with this significat problem ,
the error mesasge is :
"Award Boot Block BIOS V.1/0
Copyright(C) 2000, Award Software,Inc
BIOS ROM checksum error
Detecting floppy drive A media
Drive A error . System Halt"

i have even updated my bios and also disabled floppy disk but nothing happens and it was no use ,

any help is appreciated .

Take a look here. This problem is normally a sign of the motherboard bios chip going bad. At the link above there is a motherboard-troubleshooting guild that may help.

first of all excuse me fo delaying in responsing
i read all your advice but it didn't solve my prob.
i've changed all my computer pieces except cpu and the mobo
i think that must be sth wrong with the cpu or mobo . but i can not identify which part is faulty
would someone help me with this prob .
i'm to some extend disappointed because i have searched many forums and found many solutions that none of them worked .
now i'm waiting for your help .

Hmmm looks like you would have to get a technician to check your computer out manually already.

Hmm does registry affects bios as well ?

It's just the name of the software package. I Googled for "BIOS checksum error" and it was one of the links that came up. They claim it can figure out the problem.

Although, I really wouldn't put it past Windows to start screwing up your hardware.
