Windows XP setup problemI have a dell optiplex gx1, which had a 10GB maxtor HD with windows xp in it (which worked fine) and i put in a 40GB maxtor HD with windows xp already on it, now my computer keeps rebooting over and over, ive been trying to reformat it but at some point during windows setup i get the error:
The file dac2w2k.sys is corrupted. Press any key to continue. Could this have something to do with the computer or the xp disc? is there anyway to fix it? thanks in advance |

The error message relates to issues w/ a RAID controller. Do you have one installed or enabled on the mobo? What happens if you remove the new HD? What happens if you remove the old one? Are the drives correctly installed as master/slave?
Personally, I'd recommend making the newer drive the master since it most likely has better access times and buffer size. Just make sure you back up all your data before you start messing around. __________________
