CD-RW model CRX0811 Sony CD Burner drivers

I have a small problem. I have a CD-RW model CRX0811 Sony CD Burner and I cannot not burn audio CDs.

I was wondering if I might need a newer driver? I disconnected the burner and reinstalled as like a new one, still no help, does not work. I can make data disc and that is all. Could it be it's wore out? It's less than 2 years old.
Please help.

Roscoe

Hi Roscoe,

I use the same model and no, I have never had to look for a 'driver' and mine works fine. I'm on Windows ME...

I use Sony CD Maker 2000 Pro which is software that allows me to burn anything, Video, Music, Data and stuff...

The software came with the burner...

drivers

OK thank you. I guess mine is just burned out then don't know why it won't work. It was working fine, it was getting to the finalizing part of the initializing before recording but now it does nothing. Guess I'll have to get a new one again I thank you.

I wouldn't rush it though. SO many people have had problems setting this CDRW up, especially those on Windows 2000 and I assume Windows XP - if I remember correctly they needed some ASPI layer or something.
