set up error installing windows 98

i recived an error message say set up detectected corrut cab file how can i fix this i am tring to install windows 98 on af riends computer

Is the corrupted .cab on the hard drive or CD? If it's the HD, then you can extract the needed file from the CD; if it's the CD, then it could be damaged.

set up has detected the following decoding error set up has detected a corrupt cab file setup will attempt to recover from this situation.
