The forum where web hosts are allowed to post ads are there for them to do just that - post advertisements.

I don't think it's appropriate to comment on them (these ads) for the moment... perhaps things may change in the future but for now it has to be this way (in the grand scheme of things).

However, you seem to have stumbled on an acceptable way to 'critique' their offer.

ebasics - Miva Hosting BEST DEAL

WOW - $14.95 for a Miva Merchant Shopping Cart and complete hosting and support for 3rd party modules. 100mg with 10 GB transfer is plenty of space for any store online. Add free setup and site statics plus a free chat room for your help center, bulletin boards, 10 e-mail boxes including auto-responders, alias email and many other perks. OH, all 100% guaranteed satisfaction money back with a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

The guy who wrote the review needs to look at the correct URL and view towncommerce.net for a unmistakable best value.

Scott, I apologise for biting, but I think you should get the facts on your site consistent. I followed the link you originally gave us and there wasn't really any further information for the offer you told us about. So I investigated further into "compare eHosting" and had a look at the commerce on the chart. I get the feeling that this is really old data and was probably reasonable a couple years back, but that's not the point. I now look at the front page and the information for the commerce pack says 30GB bandwidth and 500mb storage for the same price. Which one am I supposed to believe? The web eBasics plus says its normally $39.95 but I can't find that value mentioned anywhere. Are you referring to when paying for Miva merchant?

I think you just chose the wrong page to post since people snoop before they purchase. I hope you understand my view.

Rob
p.s. Bit of advice from how I feel. The more information you give to me beforehand (what you posted just then is far clearer), the more likely I am to buy. I want to know the tiniest details like what PHP version you are using, do you support Mod_rewrite, what chat room/bulletin board are you referring to? Is it vB or one of the free ones?
I don't care if you promise the world I don't buy it. I want hard facts instead of just saying other perks. If I have the tiniest scent that I'm going to be charged for something extra, then I want to know about it in advance and hopefully not at the prices I saw on the bottom of that table.
In essence, the more upfront and detailed I feel you are, the less curious I am.
As a last point, have a look at this thread: http://www.desilva.biz/forum/viewtopic439.php?s=
