Search engine crawlers will spider .php files.
The one question being, how many variables are you passing through the file? That is, cat.php?sid=11?sid2=111 etc. |

Now you can help Google spider.By using Google map. It's script in python language. It can help add youre subsites in php to the Google databases.

Search engines does recognizes .php pages.
However to be effective you can mod-rewrite your pages, so that your variables comes across as cat_11_111.htm instead of cat.php?sid=11?sid2=111 I have done this on one of my site and has worked very well. |

Google is fine with PHP - so long as the session IDs are killed for Googlebot, etc.
