Unhappy

Corrupted ohci1394.sys

I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post this but I need help with this. To be frank I'm computer retarded and can't seem to fix the problem on my IBM laptop.

Several months ago I tried to get on my IBM ThinkPad but it went straight to this blue screen that read:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problem continue, disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advance Startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical information:
***STOP:0x000000ED
(0x80A06530, 0xc0000015, 0x00000000, 0x0000000)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I tried to fix the problem myself but unfortunatly it's being stubborn...lol
Anywaz I tried to install a clean version of Windows XP Pro because that helped with my other computer.
What happened with the windows setup was this message:
Windows Setup
ohci1394.sys is corrupted.
Press any key to continue.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then it would say:
at the bottom:
Setup failed. Press any key to restart your computer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have NOOO clue as to how to fix this problem ??: and I'm so close to throwing this laptop out ....lol. So if you can PLEASE HELP with this thank you thank you thank you....otherwise I'm tossing this thing....lol. Which is a pitty because I am not rich....far from it...lol
Try these:
"How to perform an in-place upgrade (reinstallation) of Windows XP"
If you are still experiencing problems, despite carefully following the
above:
"Performing a Clean Install of Windows XP"
