Help Please!I dont know much about programing.. I just need to know if there is any PHP code for an archive in a forum that when you delete a post in the archive.. the post counts do not go down. Just in the archive (storage of closed topics) not the whole board.
If you can please tell me the code for tha, if you can. I would really appreciate it. Thanks! |

Hello Unknown,
You did NOT mention which forum script, so I'll assume you're talking about vBulletin. I personally do not know of any that seem to do what you want; most are 'archives' of existing posts in the database (well, atleast the ones for vBulletin that I have seen) and meant more for SEO than anything else. Archiving off the database (after pruning old posts / threads into text or XML files) is something I plan to do but I am waiting to do something about it only after vBulletin 3 is out... __________________

Certainly, there is a real need for a hack such as this. SEO for forums is the next big thing...
You guessed right; asking at phpBB will be a better idea. __________________
