Is Yahoo about to launch a rival to Adsense?

Yahoo/Overture has offered very high traffic sites with a contextual ad solution for quite a while. It now appears that they may be on the verge of releasing something for the masses.

Andy Baio points out the apparent tests that are being conducted on the personal blogs of some Overture employees. They look a lot like Google's Adsense ads - as seen on Ken Rudman (Overture Product Manager)'s site.

I would guess many companies would like that. It's a successful and profitable idea and we should expect more and more offers.

Oh, I hope so... I have been waiting for this for so long - but I suppose it's not as easy (to implement such a service/product) as we would like to believe.

They need a separate spider like Google's Mediapartners bot, then there's the whole contextual algorythm/technology to figure out. I was expecting something by the 4th quarter actually but it seems like they are moving a bit faster - which if true, is quite fantastic!
