Hey... guess what? I was just going to ask this same question.

I bought myself a book on C++ 2 days ago but I haven't even opened it yet but I already knew that this was going to be my first question - so yeah, anybody?

Some possibilities????? Warning some/all may be irrelevant

http://www.openwatcom.org/

http://gcc.gnu.org/

http://home.olemiss.edu/~bobcook/eC/

Some Free IDE's too http://www.bloodshed.net/dev/devcpp.html

http://www.objectcentral.com/vide.htm

I apologise if none of this is useful but I'll take that risk. Let me know if I have fluked it :-?

Jds, I hope your still not sitting there in that corner . Sorry I never replied and by now I'm sure you found a compiler but after looking around and trying this and that I found that bloodshed Dev C++ is the best I've found of the free ones anyway. I know this is a bit late and I'm sorry if it doesn't help any now. Just call me slow .

Unfortunately I have started this massive 'project' (according to me) that easily takes up 99% of my free time. By project I really mean website(s). So, I have not and don't intend to progress much into the world of C++ at the moment.

I like what I have done to-date; it's truly my best work so far - unfortunately I have nothing to show for it just now. Perhaps in another month or two or even earlier...
