Hows on mod gzip installing, another dumb questionI have been to many a forum ,last coupla days no answers back maybe I'll get lucky here.
I just installed mod_gzip and i am not sure how to check to se if it doing anything I am limited in how much bandwidth I use and need a way to compress images gzip is all I have found so far,if there are other ways any help would get a big thanks |

You can test to see if a web page is compressed by pointing to it with this little tool www.gidnetwork.com/tools/gzip-test.php.

well that did not work
but thanks for the link I bookmarked it looks like I have been to 10 diff forums and 1 answer that did not work going to have to fig. out myself I am basicly self taught with the help of apache guides (not much there) a few tips from macromedia and coldfusion tutorials. |

It will help if you can explain a little about what you want to do.
Are you planning to use this module simply to compress images? In what format are these images stored right now? What OS? __________________
