Looking for a good CMS.

I'm looking for advice on a good CMS, I would like it written in PHP if possible. Not really worried about much else atm. Just need it to be some what user friendly as I'm still working on learning PHP.

Thanks for any advice.

I have been in this boat many times. The site suggested above is quite good in terms of comparing the better systems. I would start off by asking about your requirements. Is this going to be for a portal or a blog type application?

First define what you consider a CMS. I have seen so many definitions (portals, etc). Once that is done, check out the link abve & see if it does fit your needs (as suggested). I.E. does the client need total control over his website or maybe just needs to be in control of a few pages?

Ok thanks guys this is for two projects, the first project is my personal site blog like mostly about my personal interests and projects. The second is about a game. This site is hard to explain it’s for my corp. or guild in the game this site will have a forums and have information about our in game activities and general information about the in game corp. I hope this help explains my plans. As for the CMS I think I need something that give me a lot of control but is some what easy to setup and maintain. As the second project will on it own require a lot of work itself.

For the blog, I would consider Nucleus.

I use Mambo... Google it and you will get the site.

It will do your blog, and then some - it is pretty easy to customize so long as you are CSS savvy...

Good luck!

i'm a www.cutephp.com fan myself. Easy to integrate. It's a blogger not a full CMS script (depending on yer definition of CMS as above) Its essentially a news management script.
