Re: Command & Conquer 95 under XP

Hi I'm new in this forum and I'm brazillian... hello to all!

I'm having a different problem with C&C... it works quite well. But in some exact points of both GDI and NOD campaigns the game crashes and it's impossible to move on to the next mission or to complete the current one.

In the NOD campaign, in the 10th mission A (where you must kill a guy), when I put the commando guy in the top of the map to get to the only entrance to the GDI base the game crashes without any reason... I tried the 10th mission B (where you must destroy the tanks) and I passed it, but when the game was loading the video of the 11th mission, the game crashed just the same.

In the GDI campaign, in the 6th mission (the one where you only have a commando and you don't know exactly what to do), when the commando reaches the top of the map, again, the game crashes... The problem is that both A and B missions load the same map.... I've tried every way, including re-installing but the problem continues...

Has someone also been trough these problems? Does anyone have an idea of what could it be?

I took a screenshot of the message that sometimes is displayed (but I don't know what it means)...

PS: If I write or do anything wrong please forgive me and correct me...

Re: Command & Conquer 95 under XP

I've got the same error as InsaneGamerX. Every time I go to the top part of the map, the game freezes and that window pops up and then the game closes. It does it on every mission including the covert operations maps. It's kinda pissing me off.

Re: Command & Conquer 95 under XP

Hey everyone...

I searched for it in other forums and I people who had the same problem than me were able to fix it only by closing the application 'ctfmon.exe' on the task manager before running the game...

I did it and it stopped crashing!!!

So you just need to make sure that ctfmon.exe isn't running when you start C&C 95...

Here is the link to the forum that explains with more details:

Hope you all can fix your problems...

Re: Command & Conquer 95 under XP

Hi.

I have a problem of my own running C&C GOLD Edition. I used the guide from the first post but I get an error:

"You are currently running Windows 5.1. Windows 95 is required to play C&C."

I always get this error, is there any way around it?

Tried this and it did not work.

The only way I know of to stop this crash is to update the game to an unofficial 1.05a patch that corrects this and other compatibilty issues.

I have updated my game and it works fine now

I got the file from this site for anyone who wants to try.
