Question

Nothing Seems To Work

I have VERY carefully followed ALL of the instructions "to the letter" for installing C & C Gold on my PC with Win XP SP2 installed.
Upon reaching the step where I have to click on the "Install C & C : Win' 95" icon...the very next thing that comes up is the following error:

16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to teminate the application.

Also, I already have RA with patch and all game add-ons successfully installed and running perfectly. Just cannot get C & C to finish installing.

Any help greatly appreciated: Blackhawk

If I install C&C: Covert Operations for C&C will it require patching of any kind?
hello here how i run c& on win 98 redalert on win xp got to redalert archives and download this file to your redalert folder let it overwrite your files then you can network play and install any c&c files you wont. i play redalert1 between my win98 and xp pcs also c&c. here the places for instructions:

www.sharoma.com

this is what i did for my winxp pc only had to do nothing for win98 but install 3.03eng
[2] This may not be the case. Someone on the RA Forum explains how he managed it:

What I did was install the 3.03e patch (you can get this from the Red Alert Archive), made sure I had ipx/spx protocol(s), and screwed around with the settings in the protocol. To get to the settings, right click on 'My Network Places', right click on the ipx/spx nwlink protocol to get to the settings. Change them as follows...

Set the frame type to ethernet 802.2. Set the first computers network numbers (internal and the 802.2 one) to 000000001. Do the same for the other computers on the LAN who want to play but set the network numbers to 100000000 on one, and then 20000000 on the next, then 30000000 one the next and so on... (I think this will work, but I've only played with two computers.)

if you have any problems let me know hope this helps

hey blackhawk i had the same problem all you have to do is open "my computer",then the c drive then the windows folder, open the repair folder and the first file that u should see is Auto.exe and copy it then go back to the windows folde and open system32 and paste auto.exe in there and exit and try the game again

Red Alert Problem

Hi guys,

I have also a problem.

I have installed RED ALERT 95, and did everything there is told. Even installed a patch from the website: www.dice.nl

But when I try to start the game the screen is going black and then gives a error:

"An privileged instruction was executed at address 005c1fa4

Click on OK to terminate the application."

Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem and play RA?

Im running c&c gold for 95 with xp sp2 w/ winxp patch etc and all in compatibility mode.

Guys I've found this post right now,

Please, if someone have this DiredtX patch, give me a link where download it.
