Why my Visual Studio.Net doesn't have Windows Forms Application(.Net) template? Where

Hi all,

Why my Visual Studio.Net doesn't have Windows Forms Application(.Net) template?

I am using Microsoft Development Environment 2002 Version 7.0.9466
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 Version 1.0.3705

Do the templates depend on the Framwork version? Can they be downloaded and installed independently? Where can I download them?

Thanks
George

Hi George.
As I never heard of this problem before, I'll have to ask you: are you sure about this? The "Windows Forms Application" template is only available for "Visual C++ Projects", under the ".NET" category. Make sure that is where you look for it. If you are positive it is not there, we'll proceed with the investigation

Kind regards,
Luci

Luci,

Well...I am 100% sure there is no that template in my laptop, that is why I felt strange when I saw people were always talking about it...

Please see this picture:

(If you can not see, please let me know)

cheers

Sorry, I did not know of this. I only found one person with this problem here.

I have .NET 2003 (Version 7.1 something). I attached a picture with my IDE options. Changing the Framework will not add a template in your IDE. I'm not sure if this is possible without an upgrade. I hope there would be others who know more about the problem you are facing.
I'll try to find out more. Sorry.

Best regards,
Luci

Windows Forms Application Template Missing

George
I have the same problem with exact same version. I believe we maybe have an outdated Visual Studio.NET. I noticed you have 2002. I also have 2002. There is a 2003 .NET version which might superscede 2002. I have the Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Architect version and same thing. In fact I do not have a "Console Application .NET" template under Visual C++ Projects.
Let's work this out together, OK.

the same problem..

I am using .NET 2003, but have the same problem...
i am hesitating, whether 2005 beta would be better, or what kind of upgrade/update i should download...
i am out of idea...

but that is sure...2002->2003 update wouldnt solve this problem...(although i installed 2003 first, and have never used 2002 before)

bye,

Well, before .NET beta2, Windows Forms were WinForms I believe...
Anyway, I think I see in George's picture a template called Managed C++ Application? If that is correct, try that and see what options you have on it. That must be it! If not, someone please provide a full list (that is an awful thing to ask, I know) of the options you have in your IDE. Maybe we'll get to the bottom of things.

Best regards,
Lucian

[EDIT]
The msdn doesn't mention anything about this!
