start videolan program in c/c++Hello,
When I get a signal at the parallel port I want to start VLC to stream a videofile. And when the signal is gone, I want to stop with streaming. I can start VLC in the command line and I can pass the correct arguments at startup (not at runtime I think), but how do I kill the process ? fork() and execl() isn't really a solution either I think. Can anybody help me further how I can start/quit VLC the best way ? Thanks P.S: And is making a pthread and polling the parallel port to watch for input a good idea ? The code must be cross-platform (there is a pthread library for windows). |

I wanted to wait to see if anyone would answer before I told you that I don't have a clue how to kill the program once you open it programatically.
